Destination

The organizers of the IX International Walnut and Pecan Nut Symposium are delighted to welcome you to Grenoble (winner of the title of Green Capital of Europe 2022) from June 12 to 16, 2023

Grenoble Alpes, in the east of the Auvergne Rhône-Alpes region, in the southeast of France, in the department of Isère, occupies a strategic position at the crossroads of Northern and Southern Europe.

This territory is surrounded by 3 massifs that give it an exceptional environment: the Chartreuse, the Vercors, and the Belledonne chain, which forms a majestic curtain to the fourth massif, the Oisans, the highest, most alpine (highest point in Isère: La Meije, at 3984 meters).

Some distances from Grenoble Alpes

  • Grenoble – Paris : 574 km
  • Grenoble – Nice : 343 km
  • Grenoble – Strasbourg : 535 km
  • Grenoble – Genève : 147 km
  • Grenoble – Barcelone : 631 km
  • Grenoble – Berlin : 1.257 km
  • Grenoble – Milan : 438 km
  • Grenoble – Turin : 236 km

Symposium Venue

The symposium will take place at ALPEXPO.

ALPEXPO, the Grenoble Event Park, was built for the 1968 Olympic Games in Grenoble. The exhibition center classified as “Remarkable Contemporary Architecture” is a technological and architectural feat. The buildings were designed by the architects Jean and Claude Prouvé.

ALPEXPO is located in the south of the city, easily connected to the train station thanks to the direct link of tramway A. The city center can be reached in 20 minutes. https://alpexpo.com/
